How the Dither style works

Dither compares each cell with a 4×4 Bayer threshold matrix and turns it fully on or off, so smooth tones become the cross-hatched pixel patterns of early computers and newspapers. Each lit cell keeps the source colour.

Best for

Retro computer, Game Boy and 1-bit aesthetics.

Tips

  • Small cells (4–6px) give the classic look.
  • B&W grade for true 1-bit.
  • Coverage shrinks the pixels for a grid effect.
